Day 1
Classroom stuff about the army. Then we got to fly in a Huey Helicopter to another site where we rode in some tanks!!! It was only around a track and wasn't really too impressive but it was fun!
Day 2
Shoot some guns! AK-47, M-14, M-16, M-4. The M-14 was supposed to have the most kick which it did but still was not a lot compared to a shotgun... I was surprised. The AK-47 on full automatic drafts a LOT!! The M-16 and M-4 have a setting called burst which is 3 rounds per pull of the trigger. This was pretty nifty and we speculated this was to keep the soldiers from using to much ammo...
Then we went to the obstacle course and cooked up some MREs which stands for Meals Ready To Eat. I had the chicken fajita and I did not like it at all. The obstacle course was fun, but I only went through it one time. I am out of shape what can I say.
Day 3
Got up really really early and went to fort dix where they have specialized training modules. All of the current training we saw is geared towards urban desert type stuff. They had 4 different areas. The first we did was shooting at a projected screen of enemies running towards you and shooting at you. You had a gun that was linked up somehow and they tracked where you shot and who you killed. Kind of like those arcade games except we had 9 people lined up in a row. The fault of this one is that a lot of the guns were not calibrated and basically did not work so 3 or 4 people had all the kills.
The next station we did was sitting at a computer with a sim of a urban town that you had to run through a clear all the bad guys. The point of this scenario was to communicate with your teammates and stay together while taking down the enemy. The bad part was there was no structure they just had unlimited enemy and lives for the group. Though this would probably be a lot better for training if you had one life and a clear objective.
The next simulation we did was called VICE. Some kind of acronym for virtual combat. This was pretty cool in that it combines the 2 first stations we did into one. Having a real gun in hand to shoot opposed to a keyboard and moving around opposed to staying in one spot like in the first one. The enemy could kill each person and we actually had objectives in this sim!! It turned out really well. I do not think this has been approved yet for army use but it looks very promising.
The last section we did was a convoy exercise but it wasn't great at all. Again it was not set up for an objective all we did was avoid debris on the road and get shot at by artillery batteries. The debris we had to avoid because they could be IEDs and we did blow up from one of those one time.
Day 4
We went to the museum on base for the last day. This had tons of weapons and things like that it was too cold to go outside and learn about the tanks but it had those too. He took us to a back room where he showed us a ton of weapons that the army used throughout it's history. Not sure if anyone learned anything useful but it was neat.
Next we went back to the building we were at on the first day and had a guy come talk to us who trained military dogs. The dogs are used for Narcotics, Explosive Detection or attack? I forget what the last one was called but he is not a friendly dog to anyway! He is meant to defend a soldier in combat or something like that. Was pretty interesting how well they can get the dogs trained.

Woot I have found a job! It's in Hampton, Virginia with army research labs that works with NASA on a Air Force Base (Langley). I am a research Aerospace Engineer working in the area of rotor helicopters. Hopefully to improve performance or vibrations. Hampton is not to far from Virginia Beach and other places on the east coast if anyone wants to stay I have a couch with a pull out bed.
I am starting to get to know the area. As yesterday was Halloween, I went out with a co-worker to a bar called the Taphouse. It was pretty nice place had about 20-30 beers on tap so it's pretty cool. I tried Pumpking and it was pretty good! Actually all the beers I had that night were pretty good but I can never remember their names! One was a Hefenwiesen and that's about all I know. BTW I should post a video!
This song just reminds me so much of Daytona Beach and McKays! Oh all the good times at McK's!
In regards to my previous blog. HOLY CRAP HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW STAR TREK FROM STAR WARS AND ALSO MISQUOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Damn it there are just to many pictures to load into the blog... well not size wise just that it is taking to long for me to care any longer about uploading any more! So instead of uploading anymore I thought I would just tell you all to go to facebook and look at the pictures there!
What this is however though is a bunch of pictures of my friends at a wedding in south carolina! What I took was everyone I knew there with the double asian sunglass move... or rather people sticking their fingers up in a piece sign both of their hands!

Well apparently I don't have an accent according to this quiz... I guess I don't have a PA dutch or any kind of accent.
What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Midland "You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. | |

As the primaries role on the race becomes clearer and clearer. It looks like McCain will be the next Republican Candidate. Also what is clear is his plans, Tax Agenda. This one is too long to copy and paste into the Blog as it won't serve a lot of purpose. What you can gather from his website though is that he has an incredibly detailed plan to cut more taxes in specific areas. Only if he can get everything he wants actually passed. I suppose the president should have a little weight in this issue as he does have a veto option.
What is really interesting to me though is under the issues he has this, "America's Space Program." This part I can copy and paste because it is very short.
"'Let us now embark upon this great journey into the stars to find whatever may await us.' -John McCain
John McCain is a strong supporter of NASA and the space program. He is proud to have sponsored legislation authorizing funding consistent with the President's vision for the space program, which includes a return of astronauts to the Moon in preparation for a manned mission to Mars. He believes support for a continued US presence in space is of major importance to America's future innovation and security. He has also been a staunch advocate for ensuring that NASA funding is accompanied by proper management and oversight to ensure that the taxpayers receive the maximum return on their investment. John McCain believes curiosity and a drive to explore have always been quintessential American traits. This has been most evident in the space program, for which he will continue his strong support. "
Anyway more research is on the way!! I am glad McCain mentions the space program!

Mitt Romney seems to have taken the classical republican stance on issues.
Health Care Plan
Stop the Free Riders
Use the Free Market to keep health care quality and affordable
Give the states the freedom to use medicaid dollars how they want too
This all sounds good and all but as applied to the real world, health care is expensive and that is why you have uninsured "free riders." Granted I hate paying for it as much as you do but that is why we pay taxes. I am not sure what medicaid dollars are...
Confronting Radical Jihad
I don't really understand what he wants to do... He states appealing to communities while identifying, isolating and eliminating terrorist threats.
One of the bad things is that he is calling the terrorists Radical Fundamentalists. Where a lot of the Islamic communities do not like calling them that. Fundamentalists is like saying they are following the word of the Koran which is supporting their cause. He needs to be very careful his wording.
Curbing Federal Spending
He wants to cut a lot of the government spending that is not necessary or inefficient. Good Luck with this one!
Well thats all I have to say for this guy. He has no real plan on end iraq. He wants to End illegal immigration, he wants to cut spending, also doesn't really want a lot of change in the health care part just less spending in it. Actually the only spending he wants to do is support Energy Research so we can become energy independent. Which is also not looking to good.

Right, there is this guy on the commercials that sings this song... I think it is awesome at the end of Robin Hood, the one with Kevin Costner. I don't really like American Idol if the title fools you!

Blogger: Life of Carcer - Create Post
I think that this first statement in his issues section describes everything I need to know... The fence??? WTF what is he thinking???!!! Building a fence with a camera system would cost so many resources... and guess who would be building most of this fence??!!!
The Secure America Plan
A 9-Point Strategy for Immigration Enforcement and Border Security
Overview: Implement a broad-based strategy that commits the resources of the federal government to the enforcement of our immigration laws and results in the attrition of the illegal immigrant population.
1. Build the Fence
* Ensure that an interlocking surveillance camera system is installed along the border by July 1, 2010.
* Ensure that the border fence construction is completed by July 1, 2010.
2. Increase Border Patrol
* Increase the number of border patrol agents.
* Fully support all law enforcement personnel tasked with enforcing immigration law.
3. Prevent Amnesty
* Policies that promote or tolerate amnesty will be rejected.
* Propose to provide all illegal immigrants a 120-day window to register with the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services and leave the country. Those who register and return to their home country will face no penalty if they later apply to immigrate or visit; those who do not return home will be, when caught, barred from future reentry for a period of 10 years.
* This is not a "touchback" provision. Those who leave this country and apply to return from their home country would go to the back of the line.
4. Enforce the Law on Employers
* Employment is the chief draw for most illegal immigrants and denying them jobs is the centerpiece of an attrition strategy.
* Impose steep fines and penalties on employers that violate the law.
* Institute a universal, mandatory citizenship verification system as part of the normal hiring process.
* Prevent the IRS and the Social Security Administration from accepting fraudulent Social Security numbers or numbers that don't match the employees' names.*
5. Establish an Economic Border
* Move toward passage of the FairTax.
* The FairTax provides an extra layer of security by creating an economic disincentive to immigrate to the U.S. illegally.
6. Empower Local Authorities
* Promote better cooperation on enforcement by supporting legislative measures such as the CLEAR Act, which aims to systematize the relationship between local law and federal immigration officials.
* Encourage immigration-law training for police. Local authorities must be provided the tools, training, and funding they need so local police can turn illegal immigrants over to the federal authorities.
7. Ensure Document Security
* End exemptions for Mexicans and Canadians to the US-VISIT program, which tracks the arrival and departure of foreign visitors. Since these countries account for the vast majority of foreigners coming here (85 percent), such a policy clearly violates Congress' intent in mandating this check-in/check-out system.
* Reject Mexico's "matricula consular" card, which functions as an illegal-immigrant identification card.
8. Discourage Dual Citizenship
* Inform foreign governments when their former citizens become naturalized U.S. citizens.
* Impose civil and/or criminal penalties on American citizens who illegitimately use their dual status (e.g., using a foreign passport, voting in elections in both a foreign country and the U.S.).
9. Modernize the Process of Legal Immigration
* Eliminate the visa lottery system and the admission category for adult brothers and sisters of U.S. citizens.
* Increase visas for highly-skilled and highly-educated applicants.
* Expedite processing for those who serve honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces.
* Improve our immigration process so that those patiently and responsibly seeking to come here legally will not have to wait decades to share in the American dream. Governor Huckabee has always been grateful to live in a country that people are trying to break into, rather than break out of.
*This policy will be drafted to comply with the final federal court decisions on this issue.

Wow did you know I have a x-mas tree picture sideways??!!! HMmmmm well anyway. I was talking about the election to some of my friends and brought up something that Lewis Black has said. He said that every 4 years he didn't think that the presidency could get any worse then the previous 4. And what the fuck it does!!! Is this really any fault of the candidates? I mean they have influence over a lot of things especially how the US conducts its foreign policy. However, they have to end up cleaning up the bottom of a sewer with more shit on the way!
Anyway I might do some research and post up some of the candidates platforms. I think the Republicans are trying to take the stance of a united front while the democrats are pot shooting each other. We will see how the blood sport turns out!
